White Sand Bunkers!
The remodeling and restoration of the sand bunkers at Jefferson Park Golf Course has begun and will be underway until later this Spring on the 18 hole Jefferson Park golf course on Beacon Hill.
The remodeling of all the existing greenside bunkers will be completed this Spring provided continued good weather and favorable ground conditions. The new fairway bunkers will be done next Fall in partnership with the Heavy Equipment Crew of the Citywide Horticulture Program.
The greenside sand bunkers are being done by the Parks maintenance staff at Jefferson Park and we’re using the finest bunker sand available in the golf course industry. It is the same white sand that was used at West Seattle for the sand bunker restoration project completed in 2006. Thanks you your patience while this long awaited and significant improvement to the golf course is completed. While the project is underway the bunkers under construction will be played as Ground Under Repair per the Rules of Golf and our patrons will be entitled to a free lift if their ball comes to rest on or near a bunker under construction.
