Jackson Jills Golf Club
Since its organization in 1964, the Jackson Jills have provided
an opportunity for women to compete in golf, to enhance their
knowledge of the rules and etiquette of golf, and to develop
good sportsmanship.
The Jackson Jills is a ladies golf club that plays from
March through October at Jackson Park Golf Course in North
Seattle. Members may play any time or day of the week,
including holidays. Thursday morning is the primary
day of play with reserved tee times. We are currently
accepting new members, and there is no qualifying round required
to join.
Benefits of Membership: Jackson Jills members
have guaranteed, priority tee times on Thursday mornings
at Jackson Park. Members who play other times or days of
the week make their own tee times and play with another active
member who attests their score card. We have weekly competition
and several tournaments during the season. Other benefits
include: GHIN handicap services, eligibility to play in women's
city and state tournaments, and a chance to socialize with
other golfers and make lasting friendships.
Competition: Members play various types
of weekly competition such as Better 9, or Medal play. Competitors
are bracketed by handicap, and winners are awarded credit
toward purchases in the pro shop. Elegible members may submit
only one scorecard for the competition per week. Monies awarded
comes from our club dues.
Special tournaments occur throughout the season
including: Spring and Summer tournaments, Club Championship, Field Day,
Guest Day, a Golf Outing and Turkey Shoot.
Social Events: We start each year with a Kickoff Lunch in
February where we get our schedule and renew friendships.
General meetings are held monthly, following golf. Several
of our tournaments end with a lunch or party. The Trophy
Luncheon is held in early December to celebrate our year,
and distribute awards and trophies.
Interested? If interested in more information or details about joining the Jackson Jills Golf Club, please contact either our 2008 Captain, Diane Quinn, or our Membership Chair, Cathy Woodburne (see phone numbers and email below).
Fees: The fees for 2008 are $90.00 of which $25.00 is the GHIN fee for maintaining a handicap, and $65.00 includes an initiation fee and other club dues which covers all winnings, trophies and awards and a portion of our social events.
Jackson Park Women’s Golf Club
(Established in 1946)
Are you a female golfer looking for friendly people to play golf with? If so, come join the Jackson Park Women’s Golf Club.
We have guaranteed tee times on Tuesday mornings at Jackson Park. We welcome all ages and skill levels.
New in 2008! For those who can not play on Tuesdays, our competition days are now extended to any-day of the week while you must play with at least another member from our club.
Our mission:
- To provide opportunity for competitive golf and to develop good sportsmanship and lasting friendship among women amateur golfers.
- To enhance knowledge of and adherence to the rules and etiquette of golf.
Our season:
Our season begins on the last Tuesday in February with a kick-off brunch and meeting; our golfing begins on the 1st Tuesday in March and ends on the 2nd Tuesday in November. Trophy luncheon is held on the 1st Tuesday in December to celebrate the year’s accomplishment and to recognize the winners.
Our competition:
Members play various pre-arranged competitions and the winners are awarded with credit toward purchases in the pro-shop. Our members are eligible to compete in Women’s City and State tournaments. For a new member without GHIN index, we will run a “get acquainted round” with current members, and help her to establish her handicap index.
Membership fee:
The annual membership fee is $70 for current members and $75 for new members. The fee includes GHIN service fee ($25) which provides handicap service to each player, and the cost of awards, trophies and miscellaneous costs for club operation.
Those who join after June 30th will be charged GHIN service fee ($25) and a half of the competition fee.
