Interbay Performance Fitting Center:

Interbay Golf Center unveiled the Interbay Performance Fitting Center during the month of July, and the response has been great. Interbay is now offering Performance Club Fitting by appointment for all aspects of the Golf Game. As technology increases, and the equipment in the market becomes more specialized and advanced, it is becoming more and more important to have equipment custom tailored to your game. With the help of a PGA certified staff of teachers and club-fitters, Interbay will offer the most complete fitting experience available in the region. Please take the time to stop by the golf shop and see what is available through the Performance Fitting Program.

Rules Tip of the Month:

There is often a lot of confusion when it comes to proper etiquette pertaining to hazards. For this tip we will be concentrating on the prohibited actions of a ball lying in a hazard, rule 13-4. This rule states that before a player makes a stroke at a ball that is in the hazard the player may not:

  • Test the condition of the hazard or any similar hazard
  • Touch the ground in the hazard or water in the water hazard with his hand or club
  • Touch or move a loose impediment lying in or touching the hazard

If at any time including at address or during the backswing these rules are not followed, the action will result in a penalty. The penalties for this rules infraction are as follows: Match Play - Loss of hole, Stroke Play – Two stroke penalty.
