FINAL DAY:  JEFFERSON PARK GOLF COURSE

Richard Lee lead wire-to-wire as he defended his crown as the Seattle Amateur Champion shooting a 54 hole total of 6-under par. That makes two years in a row that Lee has slept on the lead for every round. He continues his incredible summer punctuating his win in the State Amateur in June with the Seattle Amateur title. DAY TWO:  WEST SEATTLE GOLF COURSE

Round two at West Seattle Golf Course was hit hard by severe weather during the 74th Seattle Amateur Championship. The players were greeted by thunderstorms in the early AM which forced us to push back tee times one hour. After 2 ½ hours of play the lightning required us to suspend play again for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Since its inception in 1935, this tournament has been unique in its 3-day, 3-course format. Today, boasting the strongest amateur field in the state, the Seattle Amateur is considered one of the most coveted championships in all of Washington.

The 74th annual event will be played:

Wednesday July 2nd at Jackson Park Golf Club
Thursday July 3rd at West Seattle Golf Club
Friday July 4th at Jefferson Park Golf Club

The field limit is 162 golfers with handicaps less than 3.6 (golfers with an index 3.6 – 4.9 are invited to submit an application and will be considered for the field based on availability and past performance).  Only the lowest 54 golfers will advance to the 3rd day.  All players making the cut will earn a portion of the prize fund.  Entry deadline is Wednesday June 18th at 7PM.
